Coimbatore: A group of DMK attorneys filed a complaint at the office of the Coimbatore District Commissioner of Police demanding action against two social media users Karthik and S G Surya for slandering Shanmugasundaram, the DMK MP of Pollachi constituency by posting false information about him on social media.

Social media has been abuzz with an article that alleges Shanmugasundram, the DMK MP of land acquisition. However, DMK's legal team has dismissed this accusation and filed a complaint at the Commissioner's office stating that the person has defamed the DMK party by doing so.
S G Surya who had published a post with the caption "DMK again in land acquisition, the atrocity of DMK MP Shanmugasundaram's relative." The DMK party was also accused of acquiring a canal land near Pollachi. DMK lawyers immediately sprung into action demanding for the social media accounts of Karthik and S G Surya to be deactivated, accusing them of untrustworthy fraudulent information and demanded that legal action be initiated against them.
